This association and partnership blossomed from our connection and work with Red de Guardianes de Semillas in an effort to support them throughout their proposed project for a new Food System Vision by 2050. Grupo Allpa is a farmer-led organization working on ecological and social regeneration in Ecuador since 1998.

Grupo Allpa has put forth a proposal for the Food System Vision Prize by the Rockefeller Foundation for ‘Envisioning Regenerative and Nourishing Food Futures for 2050’. The Food System Vision Prize is an invitation for organizations across the globe to develop a vision of the regenerative and nourishing food system that they aspire to create by the year 2050. This proposal is backed by Red de Guardianes de Semillas (Seeds Guardians Network); Gastronomic Ambassadors of RGS, a network of chefs and other professional cooks; El Wayruro Organico, a Farmer Business Organization and organic store; Quito Eterno, a Small NGO of cultural and pedagogical managers; Clínica Ambiental, a network of farmers centered in the regeneration of the northern Ecuadorian Amazonia; Biogranjas, a Network of farmers in the province of Cotopaxi. It is the role of Semillas de Estrella to help promote this vision to organizations in North and South American by connecting Grupo Allpa and associated networks with like-minded groups that are working to the same goals of having farmers, consumers and chefs participate through a collaborative market system to create a network that regenerates the food system.
