Chef Exchange Initiative

Red de Guardianes de Semillas of Ecuador (RGS or Seed Guardians of Ecuador) has developed the Gastronomic Ambassadors of RGS, network of chefs and other professional cooks that work throughout Ecuador with centers in Quito, Guayaquil, and the Galapagos Islands. This network of chefs has identified 10 Ecuadorian crop varieties that they believe will make an impact in the gastronomic world. Semillas de Estrella is working on developing a visitation workshop to Ecuador by North American chefs to participate side by side with the Gastronomic Ambassadors of RGS in utilizing these crop varieties in new dishes, exchanging culinary skills, and establishing personal and professional relationships.

Due to the Covid-19 situation and the direct impact it has had on the culinary industry in the United States, Semillad de Estrella is closing following the industry to see where and when we can continue our pursuit of culinary exchange.
